Pupils arrived dressed today as their favourite book characters or in cosy outfits and ready to read, filling the school with colour, imagination and excitement. Throughout the day, classes took part in our Pair and Share Reading sessions, with Nursery paired with P4, P1 with P5, P2 with P6 and P3 with P7—beautifully reflecting our mission of “Celebrating Diversity – Learning Together for Life.”
Our P5–P7 pupils also joined the Great Big Footy Quiz live webinar, interacting with the panelists through the event’s chat and enjoying the chance to represent Oakgrove among other schools. At 11.30am, the whole school gathered for a special assembly where prizes were awarded to the best‑dressed boy and girl in each class, each receiving a book to mark the occasion. Classes also enjoyed the fun Who’s Behind the Book? teacher‑guessing challenge, which brought plenty of laughter and excitement.
A huge thank‑you goes to every class for the incredible effort put into creating the stunning decorated doors—so impressive that our judge, Tim Webster, faced an exceptionally difficult task choosing the winners! It was a wonderful day.
