Rhys Read his Pledge at Peace Ceremony

Rhys from primary 7A was delighted to have his personal Peace Pledge selected from hundreds of entries, to be read at  the Peace Flame ceremony yesterday in the Guildhall Square, in the city.

The ceremony was a fantastic event with speakers such as the Reverend David Latimer, the Mayor of our city, the Mayor of London and Martin Luther King the 3rd. There were several fanatastic musicians who performed at the event in cluding 'The Singing Priests', Eoin Callaghan and Phil Coulter.

Rhys was one of the select few who actually witnessed the Peace flame being lit and he read his Pledge with confidence and grace. This was a wonderful experience and Rhys represented our school superbly.

Here is Rhys' Pledge:

'I pledge to treat others as I would like to be treated.

I pledge to think about what I say before I say it.

I pledge to help others when they are in need of help.

I pledge to treat every single person the same.

Together we CAN achieve peace!'
