Our P6B pupils had an amazing opportunity to visit The Digital Schoolhouse at St Mary’s College for an exciting workshop called “Paint by Pixels”.
A huge thank you to Mrs Doherty and Mr Meehan for organising this fantastic event!
During the workshop, pupils learned how computers use binary code to represent information. They started by coding in black and white on paper, then progressed to creating color-coded designs. They then built images using 3D blocks and later moved on to using spreadsheets and code to generate pixel art.
This session was a great blend of practical creativity and real coding skills, giving pupils a deeper understanding of how digital images are created. Everyone enjoyed the wonderful day. Thank you again to the staff at St Mary's.
