Our Place, Our Planet
14th May 2026
As part of the ‘Our Place, Our Planet’ project, both P3 classes took part in a 12 week journey of outdoor learning between Oakgrove Primary School and Creggan Country Park. Throughout the programme, they explored the natural world through hands-on activities such as nature trails, bug hunts, and habitat building, while developing their understanding of animals, communication, biodiversity, conservation and sustainability. The children worked collaboratively in games and challenges, building their teamwork and problem solving skills, and expressed their learning through creative activities including art, movement, and role play. The project also supported their wellbeing, with opportunities for reflection, mindfulness, and outdoor relaxation, allowing them to connect with nature and appreciate the importance of caring for both themselves and the environment.
