Oakgrove cross country teams into regional finals

Oakgrove boys and girls cross country running teams made it into the national finals after two sterling performances at Templemore earlier today.

Both the girls and the boys teams qualified for the regional finals, the girls finished 6th overall and the boys finished 2nd overall. The underfoot conditions were very wet and slippery but all of the children were able to steer their way to the finish producing a lot of very credible performances.

Oakgrove's running coach (Mr McGurk) would like to thank all of the boys and girls for all of their efforts lately. A lot of children in the school have tried really hard to make the running team and this has pushed the current crop of runners to new levels of performance. Well done everybody! 

Thanks also has to go to the parents for supporting their children during all of the running events this year.

For now its a case of watch this space, as it is very eveident from recent performances that these kids were 'Born to Run'.
