Oakgrove's boys running team finished a very admirable 2nd place in the finals of the Flahavan's NI Primary School Cross Country League recently. The boys team ran really well in the national finals that were held in a very wet and cold Mallusk.
Cross country running was very popular in Oakgrove this year with almost 60 childern trying out for the running team. The girls team tried very hard and performed better in each of the three regional races. The boys team really excelled this year. Whilst they got off to a slow start the boys soon got into their stride producing some super team performances in the regional races. The boys finished up as the top primary schools running team in the North West area.
Mr McGurk would like to thank all of the boys and girls who made up the running team for their efforts through out the season. Specail mention has to go to the parents of the boys running team who came to support the boys team in the national finals and for encouraging the boys through out the running season.
