Extended Schools

Oakgrove Integrated Primary and Nursery Schools is now in its third year of the Extended Schools programme.

Activities which are provided with Extended Schools funding include:

  • Breakfast club (8:15 to 8:40am costing 50p for three items)
  • Chinese language and culture club (Saturday 2:00pm)
  • North West Counselling (in school service)   
  • Speech and Language Therapy (in school service)
  • STEP’s to Excellence Parents programme
  • Summer Clubs (July)
  • Swimming club (Wednesday 4:55 to 5:25pm beginners, 5:25 à 5:55pm improvers)
  • “SMART Parents” and “Time for me” courses (in partnership with Caw and Nelson Drive community group)

Oakgrove Integrated Primary and Nursery School are also part of the “LEDON” cluster of Extended Schools which allows us to share programmes also run in Ebringnton P.S., Lisnagelvin P.S, Newbuildings P.S., Glendermott P.S., Mullabouy P.S., Strathfoyle Nursery, Oakgrove Integrated College, Lisneal College, and Foyle & Londonderry College.

The cluster group of extended schools works closely with community organisations including Action for Children, Caw & Nelson Drive community group, Irish Street community group, Waterside Neighbourhood Partnership, Derry City Council and The Western Education and Library board.
