Creating Smart Skills for the NW Economy

Well done to Erin and Jacob from P5 who represented the school at a STEM and ICT conference called Creating Smart Skills for the NW Economy in Saint Mary's College . The children were a wonderful example of what is possible with coding at such a young age. There were a number of keynote speakers including representatives from the US Consulate general, ILEX, the US Council on Competitiveness, the New Schools Venture Fund, Engagement Games, Microsoft, Allstate, Seagate and our own Mrs. Crawford from STEM AWARE. Mr McKernan made a number of links for the school for future projects in STEM and ICT. The children were able to actually create their own web page during the course of the speeches. At aged 8 and 9 this is quite remarkable.
